Tennis legend Sania Mirza recently discussed the possibility of a biopic based on her life, touching upon her career, marriage to Shoaib Malik, and life as a single mother. The former world No. 1 doubles player, who retired from professional tennis in 2023, faced a personal upheaval when her marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik ended shortly after her retirement.
Sania and Shoaib had married in 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhaan, in 2018. However, following their separation, Sania has split her time between Dubai and Hyderabad, while Shoaib married Pakistani TV actress Sana Javed.
As Sania enters 2025 with a renewed perspective, she was asked about the possibility of a Bollywood biopic depicting her life story. The tennis icon expressed no objection to the idea but revealed that film producers have yet to express interest in the project. “A biopic has been on the cards, a lot of people have been talking about it. But I haven’t had offers of late, unless my managers have not told me about any!” she shared with Hindustan Times.
Despite the lack of formal offers, the conversation around a biopic on Sania Mirza remains a topic of interest, reflecting her lasting impact on both tennis and popular culture.
