Hyderabad: Marathi actor Subodh Bhave has praised Prabhas for his warm and down-to-earth behaviour on the sets of their upcoming film Fauzi. The actor, who will make his Telugu debut with the Hanu Raghavapudi directorial, said the pan-India star never brings his celebrity status to the sets and makes fellow performers feel comfortable.

Bhave, who plays freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the period action drama, shared his experience of working with Prabhas in an interview with Variety India. Although the two actors reportedly shot together for only one day, Bhave said the interaction left a positive impression on him.

Speaking about the atmosphere on the sets, the Marathi actor described Prabhas as a warm and approachable co-star. He also recalled sharing a scene with Prabhas and veteran actor Anupam Kher, calling the opportunity special.

Subodh Bhave says Prabhas makes co-stars comfortable

In the interview, Bhave said Prabhas displayed warmth and affection despite being one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. According to him, the actor made sure that his co-stars felt comfortable rather than allowing his popularity to influence the working environment.

“On the sets of ‘Fauzi’, though he is a very big superstar, he brought a lot of warmth and love. He was very cool. He made the other actors comfortable on the set,” Bhave said.

He also spoke about sharing screen space with Anupam Kher. The veteran actor was present during the shoot, and Bhave had the opportunity to film a scene featuring both Prabhas and Kher.

“Anupamji was there as well. I shot a scene with Anupam ji and Prabhas, which was special as I got to work with two big names,” he added.

Bhave further described Prabhas as a fantastic human being, highlighting how the actor maintained a relaxed atmosphere on the sets.

“Prabhas is a fantastic human being. Despite being a big superstar, he doesn’t bring his stature or status to the set. We shot very comfortably,” he said.

The comments offer a glimpse into Bhave’s experience of working on a large-scale Telugu production. For the Marathi actor, the opportunity also brought him together with two prominent performers from Indian cinema.

Subodh Bhave had met Prabhas on the sets of Adipurush

The Fauzi shoot was not Bhave’s first interaction with Prabhas. The actor revealed that he had met the Telugu star earlier during the filming of Adipurush, directed by Om Raut.

Bhave recalled that Raut had invited him to the film’s sets and introduced him to Prabhas. The connection between the director and the Marathi actor came through Raut’s earlier work in Marathi cinema.

Om Raut had directed Bhave in the Marathi film Lokmanya: Ek Yugpurush. The 2015 biographical drama was based on the life of freedom fighter and social reformer Bal Gangadhar Tilak, with Bhave playing the lead role.

Recalling the meeting, Bhave said: “I met him on the set of ‘Adipurush’. Om Raut, who directed the film, had worked with me on his first Marathi movie, ‘Lokmanya: Ek Yugpurush’. He had called me to the set and introduced me to Prabhas; that’s how we met.”

The actor’s recollection suggests that his impression of Prabhas was consistent across both interactions. He said the superstar displayed the same approachable nature when they met again while working on Fauzi.

Adipurush, released in 2023, featured Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. The film was directed by Om Raut and became one of the major releases of that year.

What is Prabhas’ Fauzi about?

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is described as a period action drama set against the backdrop of India’s struggle for independence. The film is expected to combine patriotism, rebellion and action, with Prabhas playing a soldier whose fight for freedom is central to the story.

The project brings together a prominent cast from different film industries. Apart from Prabhas and Subodh Bhave, the film features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Sajjad Delafrooz in key roles.

The film also marks the acting debut of Imanvi Esmail, who plays the female lead opposite Prabhas. Her inclusion in the project has attracted attention as she makes her entry into the film industry with a major pan-India production.

Bhave’s role as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is another notable aspect of the film. Bose was one of the most prominent figures in India’s freedom movement, known for his leadership of the Indian National Army and his efforts to challenge British rule. The portrayal places the Marathi actor in a significant historical role in his Telugu debut.

However, the makers have not disclosed the complete details of the characters or the film’s storyline.

Fauzi release date and production details

Fauzi is being produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar under the banners of Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films. Mythri Movie Makers is backing the project, with T-Series Films presenting it.

The film is being planned as a pan-India release on March 19, 2027. It is expected to reach theatres in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali, allowing the production to connect with audiences across several language markets.

Hanu Raghavapudi, who previously directed films such as Sita Ramam, is helming the project. His association with the historical drama has added interest to the film, particularly given its period setting and the scale of its cast.

For Prabhas, Fauzi is another major project in his expanding filmography. For Bhave, it marks an important step into Telugu cinema after establishing himself as a prominent performer in Marathi films.

Bhave’s remarks about Prabhas have also highlighted the working relationship between the two actors. While they reportedly shared the sets for just one day, the Marathi actor’s comments underline the impression made by the superstar’s conduct during their brief collaboration.

With its historical setting, multi-industry cast and planned pan-India release, Fauzi is among the upcoming projects drawing attention from Prabhas’ fans. More details about the film, including its promotional material and further cast updates, are awaited.
