In a stunning showcase of elegance, talent, and ambition, Sweezal Furtado from Barkur (Bengaluru) has been crowned ‘Miss Global India 2024’. The coronation took place at the Miss Super Model India event held at Clarks Amer in Jaipur on July 28, marking another milestone in Furtado’s impressive pageant career.
At just 19, Sweezal has already made significant waves in beauty pageants and modelling. Her journey began with winning the ‘Fresh Face of Ignite India 2021’ title, followed by securing the second runner-up position in the MISS SUPERMODEL INDIA 2022 competition. In June 2023, she represented India on the global stage, clinching the title of Miss Teen Universal 2023, International Princess at the Miss Teen International Pageant in Peru. She further distinguished herself by securing the titles of Miss Teen Universal Asia and Best National Costume.
Known as ‘South India’s Supermodel’, Sweezal is also a talented dancer, impressing audiences with her performance of ‘Nach Meri Rani’ and catching the attention of singer Guru Randhawa. Additionally, she advanced to the national level in the Kavita Trust Poetry Recitation competition in 2019.
Currently a third-year BBA student in entrepreneurship at St Joseph’s College of Commerce in Bengaluru, Sweezal balances her academic pursuits with her passion for modelling and fashion. Her multifaceted approach to personal development has undoubtedly contributed to her success.
As Miss Global India 2024, Sweezal will represent India at the international Miss Global competition next year. Her achievement brings pride to her hometown of Bengaluru and to the entire nation.
