Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is in full swing promoting her upcoming supernatural thriller Odela 2, helmed by director Ashok Teja. While anticipation builds for its April 17 multilingual release, the actress recently opened up about her professional journey, shedding light on how she has tackled labels and public opinion.

When questioned about whether her image as a ‘beauty icon’ ever felt restrictive, Tamannaah dismissed the idea of playing the victim. “I don’t subscribe to the narrative of saying I missed out on roles because I’m too beautiful. That just sounds odd to me,” she said during a media interaction.

She acknowledged the visual nature of the film industry, noting how it often demands a certain appearance. However, she emphasized that true storytelling isn’t bound by beauty norms and that actors should not be boxed in based on their looks.

Reflecting on the popular moniker ‘Milky Beauty’, Tamannaah revealed it began as a term of affection from fans and only later gained traction in the media. “It was a sweet gesture from my admirers. It never shaped or limited the kind of roles I chose,” she clarified.

Odela 2, packed with suspense and mystery, stars Hebah Patel, Vasishta N. Simha, Murali Sharma, and Sharath Lohitashwa. The film’s gripping trailer has already caught attention, while B. Ajaneesh Loknath’s music adds to the thrill.
