The makers of Nayyi Navelli, starring Yami Gautam Dhar, have released the theme song ‘The World of Mohini’, offering a fresh glimpse into the fantasy entertainer ahead of its theatrical release on October 16.

Composed and produced by G. V. Prakash Kumar, the track introduces audiences to the film’s unusual fictional universe, blending Indian folklore, family dynamics, mystery and unexpected twists. The song places Yami’s character, Mohini, at the centre of the narrative and showcases a different avatar of the actor.

Presented by Zee Music Company in association with Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Production, the track features an energetic musical arrangement, a prominent chorus and a distinctly Indian flavour.

The release adds to the film’s promotional campaign as the makers prepare to bring the fantasy entertainer to cinemas across India ahead of Dussehra.

Yami Gautam’s Mohini takes centre stage

‘The World of Mohini’ offers an introduction to the character and the fantastical setting in which the film unfolds. Through its lively musical arrangement and playful tone, the track hints at the unusual situations and surprises that form part of the story.

The makers have positioned the song as more than a conventional promotional track, using it to establish the film’s atmosphere without revealing too much about the plot.

Director Balaji Mohan explained that the central idea was to capture the contrast between an ordinary family environment and a world where unexpected things happen.

“Nayyi Navelli brings together two very different worlds: the warmth and familiarity of a family setting, and a fantastical world where things can take some truly unexpected turns. We wanted the theme track to capture that contrast,” he said.

According to the director, the music combines mystery, playfulness and a mischievous quality that reflects the film’s overall tone.

He added that the story begins in a setting audiences can relate to before taking its characters into situations they might not anticipate. The theme track, he explained, offers a sense of this combination without revealing the entire story.

G. V. Prakash Kumar composes the theme

G. V. Prakash Kumar has composed and produced ‘The World of Mohini’, giving the song an energetic arrangement built around its chorus and distinctly desi sound.

The track features male chorus vocals by Sugandh Shekar, Abhijith Rao and Shridhar Ramesh. The female chorus features Fathima Henna, Aishwarya Anil Kumar and Indu Sanath.

The layered vocals and lively musical structure help establish the film’s quirky fantasy setting, with Mohini serving as the central figure in the song’s presentation.

The track follows the previously released songs ‘Bhabhi Tabaahi’ and ‘Phata Patakha’. Together, the songs are introducing different aspects of the film’s musical identity as its release approaches.

‘The World of Mohini’ is available on Amazon Music, Apple Music, JioSaavn and YouTube Music.

Balaji Mohan directs the fantasy entertainer

Nayyi Navelli is directed by Balaji Mohan, with Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma credited as writers. The film is produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, with music by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

Alongside Yami Gautam Dhar, the film features Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, Prateek Pachori, Akshat Singh, Babita Pandey, Ajay Pal and Neeraj Singh in pivotal roles.

The ensemble cast brings together performers from different backgrounds, supporting a story that combines familiar family dynamics with fantastical elements.

The makers have indicated that the film will balance mystery and action with family-oriented entertainment. The released songs and promotional material have gradually introduced its tone, characters and unusual setting, while leaving much of the narrative undisclosed.

Nayyi Navelli set for October 16 release

Nayyi Navelli is scheduled to release in cinemas across India on October 16, ahead of Dussehra.

With ‘The World of Mohini’, the makers have offered another preview of the film’s imaginative setting and the character played by Yami Gautam Dhar. The song also adds to the promotional campaign following the release of ‘Bhabhi Tabaahi’ and ‘Phata Patakha’.

The film’s combination of Indian folklore, family relationships, mystery and fantasy will be central to its theatrical presentation. Audiences will get to see how these elements come together when the film reaches cinemas later this month.
