The actress took to social media to share the joyous news, posting a picture of herself with a monkey perched on her shoulder. Captioning it, she wrote, “Honoured to be part of this magic called cinema for 22 years, thank you all,” followed by heart, gratitude, and evil-eye emojis.
In her Instagram stories, Trisha revealed a fun detail about her furry companion, saying, “And for those asking, that’s Marcel the monkey, named after Marcel from Friends.”
A Stellar Career Across Languages
Trisha debuted in Tamil cinema with a minor role in Jodi before landing her first lead role in Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002). She quickly rose to fame with blockbusters like Saamy (2003), Ghilli (2004), and Aaru (2005) in Tamil, as well as Telugu hits like Varsham (2004) and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005).
In the 2010s, she continued her reign with notable films like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), Kodi (2016), ‘96 (2018), and the epic Ponniyin Selvan series (2022-2023). Her recent success includes the blockbuster Leo (2023).
