Mumbai: Television actress Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on Sunday, police said. The 22-year-old actress, known for her appearances in television serials and films, was declared dead after being taken to a hospital, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to police officials, the incident occurred at her home in Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village. Family members and local residents reportedly rushed her to a nearby hospital after discovering her unresponsive, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Authorities have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and initiated an inquiry. Police said investigations are being carried out from all possible angles, and the exact circumstances leading to her death are yet to be established.

Police launch investigation

Officials from Achole Police Station reached the residence soon after receiving information about the incident. An inquest was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination as part of the standard legal procedure.

Based on a complaint lodged by her father, Machhindra Ugale, police registered an ADR under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Investigators said statements are being collected and all aspects of the case are being examined before any conclusions are drawn.
