Actor and entrepreneur Vivek Oberoi has shared his perspective on life in the United Arab Emirates amid concerns surrounding the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict, stating that the situation on the ground remains stable and far removed from alarming narratives circulating online.

‘Reality very different from perception’

In an interview, Oberoi addressed viral videos and reports suggesting instability in the region, emphasising that such portrayals do not reflect everyday life in Dubai.

“The world outside often views us through a lens of distortion,” he said, adding that the reality in Dubai is marked by resilience and continuity. According to him, the city is not just functioning but operating at a higher level of energy and growth.

Business continues to thrive

Oberoi, who runs multiple ventures in Dubai, said businesses remain active and are continuing to evolve despite global uncertainties.

“We aren’t just open for business; we are a global benchmark for progress and stability,” he noted, highlighting that companies are adapting rather than slowing down.

He also spoke about his organisation, BNW Developments, saying the challenging environment has strengthened team bonds and fostered a more people-centric work culture.

Emotional return to family

The actor also reflected on a personal moment after returning from Mumbai, where he had been shooting for Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Recalling his reunion with his children in Dubai, Oberoi said, “The moment I saw my kids, the weight of the world just fell away.” He described the atmosphere at home as calm and reassuring, reinforcing his sense of normalcy amid global tensions.

‘People abroad are getting it wrong’

Addressing safety concerns, Oberoi emphasised that Dubai continues to function within a strong and sophisticated security framework.

“People abroad are fundamentally getting it wrong; they are mistaking caution for fear,” he said, adding that both professional and personal life in the UAE remains unaffected.

He concluded by highlighting the sense of unity and stability in the country, noting that residents continue to live and work with confidence despite geopolitical developments.
