Mangaluru: Retaining the knowledge from elders and adding new information which would help the future generation is the major responsibility of education institutions, opined Mangalore University Finance Officer Prof. Shripathi Kalluraya.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a two-day National-level workshop on ‘Identification techniques of Macrofungi and Lichens’ organized by the Botany department at Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana of the University College Mangaluru on Friday, he said that interaction with the field experts would help in this regard.
Presiding over the function, Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M A said that science-based on humanity which would help all is needed. The younger generation should dream big and work towards achieving their goal. Vanashree UG Botany Teachers’ Association President Dr. Prasanna Rai K, Dr. Dayananda Pai Sathish Pai Govt. College Botany department Head Dr. Jayakara Bhandary, Mangalore University Department of Applied Botany former chairman Dr. K R Chandrashekhar were present among others.
