Mangaluru: On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions along with NSS UNIT of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College is organizing a Marathon – ‘Mullerun’ on Sunday, November 13 2022.
Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital has been catering Homoeopathic treatment to patients since 1985. Over the years, the hospital has been functioning with Outpatient departments in various specialities and a 24 x 7 In-patient department, a Yoga & naturopathy unit, Counselling, Physiotherapy, X-ray and Laboratory services.
The hospital has been conducting various Health Camps and Health Awareness Talks to the general public on the occasion of important health events. To add to this, on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, a Marathon – ‘Mullerun’ is organized in two categories, covering a 5 km run, starting from Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Campus to Kuthar Junction and back to College and 15 km Run, starting from Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Campus – Kuthar – Thokkottu via Beeri – Deralakatte Junction and ends at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Campus.
The Marathon – Mullerun will be inaugurated by Ms Geetha Kulakarni, Asst. Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Mangalore. Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, of Father Muller Charitable Institutions will preside over the programme. Flag-off timing for the 15 km. will be at 6:30 a.m and 5 km at 7:15 a.m. More than 800 participants have registered for the Marathon.
The I, II & III winners in both categories will be awarded cash prizes, Health Checkup Vouchers and gift hampers of a total worth Rs. 1 Lakhs. All the finishers will be acknowledged with a certificate for their participation.
Along with the Marathon, a week-long Medical Camp on Diabetes and Diet is organized at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital Out Patient Department at Deralakatte from November 14 to 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the camp, Free Sugar Test and Diabetic related tests will be done at 50 per cent concessional rate.
