Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, in association with SJEC AICTE IDEA LAB and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized a three days Skill Development Program on “Advanced Manufacturing Processes” from 11 to 13 October 2023 for the students of diploma colleges of Mangalore region.
About 60 students from Government Polytechnic Bantwal and 39 students from SNS Polytechnic Bajpe registered for the workshop and actively participated.
The first session of the workshop was focused on training the participants on the working of different machines and the use of Software like Solid Works, Tinkercad, Art Cam, Creality Ender Slicer, Light Burn etc. which is primarily used to create the design of the model or product to be developed.
Students were later divided into three groups of 10 students each and hands-on training was given on 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser cutting machines, and CNC wood router machines.
Dr Ravikantha Prabhu, Dr Vijay V S, and Rajesh Belchada conducted different sessions as resource persons for the workshop.
Deekshith, Harshith, Chaithra K, and Praveen Dsouza were Tech Gurus and demonstrated the working of different machines and guided the participants.
