Puttur: In a moving display of enterprise, a group of BBA students from St Philomena College, Puttur, has set on a business venture that promises to redefine event management in the region.

Third year BBA students Rashi Rai, Vaishnavi, Pratiksha, Aneeksha Rai, and Bhanu Keerthi have started an event management firm and have called it ‘Shree Events’.

The vision of these students, now turned entrepreneurs, with the said startup ‘Shri Events’, is already responsible for over 30 successful events in and around Puttur.

They lead the brand with their ideation and delivers innovative and custom-made event management solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction through a commitment to excellence.

Rashi Rai, Chief Operating Officer of Shri Events, shared what she thinks is the ethos behind their initiative: “Shri Events was born from the collective dream of five like-minded individuals.

We believe in creating memories that last for generations by understanding the unique background of each event and applying innovation in planning and execution for those events.

Unconditional support from our professors who belong to the BBA department and encouragement from our parents have indeed been instrumental in turning our dream into reality,” she said.

“Our enterprising students have set their foot in the world of business with their skills while still learning. They have organized many programs to date with great success. We are highly proud of the achievements of these young entrepreneurs.

They have also excelled in their academics. Today, they have realized their dreams and have helped other students with the practical knowledge they have acquired during their studies. They are indeed role models. May this organization reach even greater heights.” said Dr Radhakrishna Gowda V, Head of the Department of Business Administration.

“With quality education and good initiatives, these students exemplify how individuals can establish a business in their own country and thrive.

To promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the college, a unit named the Institution’s Innovation Council has been initiated. This unit provides guidance on establishing startups.

Furthermore, the professors from the Department of Business Administration of the college offer encouragement and support to the students. ‘Shree Events’ is an example that encourages dreams of the students while also imparting education in our college.

Incubation centres are planned to be established in the college in the coming days to further encourage innovation.

May this organization, founded by our lady students, continue to grow and offer superior services to its customers.” said Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal, St Philomena College, Puttur.
