Mangaluru: Agnes Towards Community (ATC), a dedicated student-led initiative at St Agnes College (Autonomous), orchestrated a transformative community service session on 2 September 2023. The event aimed to enlighten ATC students about the significance of community service and equip them with essential skills to make a lasting impact.

The highlight of the session was the distinguished resource person, Sr Dr Jenis Mary P., Vice Principal of the School of Social Work at Roshni Nilaya. Dr Jenis Mary P. delivered a compelling address, emphasizing the multifaceted aspects of community service, including both short-term and long-term impacts. During her engaging talk, she underlined the importance of developing essential skills for effective community service, including empathy, communication, and teamwork. She emphasized that these skills are not only valuable for service but also essential for personal growth. 

The event was organized by Dr Shailaja Rai and Melson Dsouza, the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of ATC and Sammitha M. P., the ATC Secretary. 

The session reinforced ATC’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens who actively contribute to the betterment of society.
