Puttur: St Philomena College celebrated 75th Republic Day with earnestness and joy. The celebration at the College echoed the spirit of patriotism and unity among the students, reinforcing the commitment towards the progress and development of the nation.
The principal, Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, raised the National Flag and gave a special message for Republic Day. It was a special day to show our love for our country and work together for its growth.
Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro emphasized the significance of Republic Day and encouraged students to actively contribute towards making India a developed nation. He wished that the spirit of patriotism among the students guide their endeavours and lead India to greater heights.
The principal of St Philomena PU College, Rev. Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta was the Chief guest for the event and said, “As we celebrate the 75th Republic Day, let us reflect on the values that define our nation – unity, diversity, and progress. The young are the architects of future India. Therefore, strive for excellence, embrace knowledge, and contribute to our great nation”.
The celebration witnessed active participation of NCC cadets from the Army and Naval Wings, along with students and faculty members. The Performing Arts unit added grace to the celebration by performing patriotic songs.
Prashanth Rai, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, St Philomena College, compered the program. Capt. Johnson D Sequeira, ANO of NCC Army wing, and Thejaswi Bhat K, CTO of NCC Navy wing organized the program.
