Mangaluru: “Let’s get rid of the misconceptions about Covid vaccine and wake up to the lessons taught by the epidemic and join hands to stop the second wave,” said Srinivasa University Chief Medical Officer and Professor Dr Annayya Kulal.
Delivering a special lecture during the Covid- 19 awareness program organized by the Youth Red Cross, NCC, NSS and other associations of the University College Mangaluru at Ravindra Kalabhavana here on Wednesday, he added that the facilities available in government hospitals should be utilized. It is the responsibility of the youth to protect elders from Covid 19 pandemic.
Senior faculty members shared their opinions and said it takes will power to face Covid. Head of the Department of Microbiology Dr Bharathi Prakash said that flouting Covid regulations is an offence. It is everyone’s responsibility to follow the rules.
Principal Dr A Harisha presided over the function. Youth Red Cross Program Officer Dr Kumaraswamy M compered the event and shared his experience with the Covid vaccination.
The Youth Red Cross, NCC and NSS students carried out a rally from the college to the central railway station to create awareness about the pandemic and they also distributed the masks. NCC Officers Dr Jayaraj N (Army), Dr Yathish Kumar (Navy), NSS Officers Dr Suresh and Dr Gayathri N, Mangalore University Red Cross Nodal Officer Dr Ganapathi Gowda, NSS Nodal Officer Dr K A Nagarathna were present among others.
