Yashovarma is a confluence of dream vision sense of humour

Mangaluru: Dr B. Yashovarma who lived a disciplined life based on values has left us a great example of life, said Dr Moodbidiri Alva’s Education Foundation President Dr M Mohan Alva opined.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating ‘Dr B Yashovarma Samsmarane Yashobhivyakti’ program organized by Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kannada Sangha of University College Mangalore here at Ravindra Kalabhavana on Tuesday, he said that only if we continue his efforts to raise the intellectual level of students and the lessons of an ideal life, it will be a true commemoration.

Bangalore North University Vice Chancellor Dr Niranjan Vanalli said that the credit of developing journalism department in S.D.M College, Ujire goes to Dr B. Yashovarma. He recalled the impression created by Dr B Yashovarma as a principal.

Kshemavana (Bangalore) Director Shraddha Amit said that Yashovarma enjoyed every moment of life. He was a voracious reader with an enormous memory power. SDM Educational Society Secretary Dr Sathishchandra S said that Dr B Yashovarma used to review works after implementation and review. His aim was to add value in every step, he said.

Mangalore University Political Science Department Chairman Prof. P. L Dharma said that Yashovarma also played an important role in the development of universities. Pooran Verma, CEO, IT and Hostels Administration, SDM Society (Ujire), said SDM educational institutions were the world to his father. He loved the students immensely. President of Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Dr MP Srinath said that Dr B. Yashovarma identified and encouraged litterateurs who were left unrecognized

Sonia Verma, Principal Dr Anasuya Rai and others were present on the stage. Kannada Sahitya Parishat Central Executive Committee Member Dr Madhav MK delivered an introductory note and welcomed the guests. Fine Arts Association Secretary Vikas Raj O., delivered vote of thanks. Manjula Shetty mastered the ceremony. As part of the programme, there was a video exhibition of a special painting by internationally renowned speed painter Vilas Nayak.

The poetry meet organized as a part of the program was presided over by veteran literature P. Ramakrishna Shastri. As a part of ‘Yashobhivyakti’, students of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College, Ujire performed ‘Bendre andre…’ , a stage presentation.

In his valedictory address, Kannada Sahitya Parishat State President Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi said that Dr B. Yashovarma lived a model life. Former president of K.S.P Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that Yashovarma dedicated his life to the society.

Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. Jayaraj Amin who presided over the program, opined that Yashovarma is the embodiment of simplicity. Dr M.P Srinath, Principal Dr Anasuya Rai, K.S.P Central Executive Committee Member Dr Madhav MK, Joint Secretary U. H Khalid, Executive Committee Member Sanath Kumar Jain and others were present. Pawan Kumar mastered the valedictory ceremony.
