Mangaluru: The Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology, supported by Tata Trusts, Department of Public Health Dentistry, NSS Units of Yenepoya Dental College And Yenepoya Homeopathy College observes well women awareness month at Ayush campus on Mar 31. The Program started with a training session on cancer awareness of General, Hematological cancers, oral, cervical, and breast and Introduction ZYIO Services, Role of Homeopathy in Cancer Care by Dr Amar Rao.H.T, Dr Rajesh Krishna, Dr Imran Pasha M, Dr Umme Amarah, Dr Prajna V Kini, Dr Boney Paul and Dr Kiran Kammar respectively.
The interaction session had a lot of interesting questions being asked by the students and clarified their doubts. The Valedictory program began with Dr.Shashikanth B Kammar NSS Program Officer of YHC Welcoming all the speakers and the chief guest. Dr Jalaluddin Akbar. K.C., Professor& HOD, Surgical Oncology, ZYIO highlighted the importance of such training sessions to help in closing the care gap.
Dr. Imran Pasha M NSS Program officer highlighted the role NSS Volunteers can play in creating awareness during the special camps and their day-to-day training. The presiding officer of the program principal Yenepoya Homeopathy College, Dr.Shivaprasad K appreciated the event and stressed the importance of evidence-based practice going ahead and there is lot of opportunities for the same. The Vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal of the Yenepoya Homeopathy College
