The ‘Mho’ynyallem Cho’lchitr’ (Monthly Movie) series of Mandd Sobhann was inaugurated by Leo Rodrigues, Industrialist, Philanthropist & Community Leader in Abu Dhabi, on Sunday August 16, 2015, at Kalaangann.
He inaugurated the series by pasting a poster on the wall, a symbolic representation of how films were advertised in the early days.
Leo Rodrigues congratulated Mandd Sobhann for all the work it has been doing to promote and enrich Konkani. Agnelo Fernandes (Goa), the Producer/Director of the movie ‘Pavlam’ was honoured on the occasion.
He thanked the organizers for choosing his film to be screened first in the series and wished that Mandd Sobhann succeeds in all its endeavours. Eric Ozario (Gurkar), Louis Pinto (President), Lavina Rodrigues were present on stage.
Shri Arun Raj Rodrigues compered the programme. The 1st ‘Mho’ynyallem Cho’lchitr’ – ‘Pavlam’, based on the life of St. Joseph Vaz was screened that day.
Just as Mandd Sobhann has been presenting monthly theatres (Mho’ynyalli Manchi), without a break on the first Sunday of every month at Kalaangann (164 presented, as on date); with the intention of promoting Konkani cinema, ‘Mho’ynyallem Cho’lchitr’ (Monthly Movie) will be presented on the third Sunday of every month, at Kalaangann, at 5.30 p.m. Entry will be free.
