600 youth join Inter Institution Anti Drug Walkathon in city

Mangaluru: Heeding to the call of Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha Bishop of Mangalore, an inter-institution anti-drug walkathon was organized by CODP, Sports Club Bandhavya, Paduva College of Commerce and Management, NSS, White Doves and Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh®.

The above organizers along with collaborators including Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work, and St Agnes College marched a 2 km Walkathon from Padua /CODP Campus Nanthoor to Bendur Church campus.

The program concluded with an awareness talk on the NDPS Act by Superintendent Of Police, Lokakyukta Mangaluru Division C. A Simon.

Dr Rohan S. Monis, Administrative Officer at Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre spoke on the side effects of drugs.

Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro, Correspondent, Padua Educational Institutions, delivered the presidential address asking youth to be useful and powerful youngsters of young India.

The program was compered by Roshan Lecturer of Padua College Nanthoor. Fr Vincent Dsouza Director of CODP welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr Arun Wilson Lobo Principal of Paduva College of Commerce and Management proposed a vote of thanks. The 600 youth who participated were served refreshments at 4:30 pm
