Bejai Fiesta 2023 showcases feast of St Francis Xavier Church

Mangaluru: St Francis Xavier Church Bejai Mangalore organised Bejai Fiesta 2023 on the occasion of the feast of its Patron Saint Francis Xavier on Sunday 3 Dec at Lourdes Central School Grounds from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event was inaugurated by the Bejai Parish Priest Rev. Fr J. B. Saldanha. He in his message to the Parishioners, said these types of activities are community building ones and requested them to participate and enjoy the events of the evening to increase the joy of the feast, Rev. Fr Suraj Lobo, Asst. Parish Priest of Bejai, Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza, Principal Lourdes Central School, Rev. Fr Vincent Sequeira, Director of Pastrol Centre, Bajjodi, Rev. Fr Leston Lobo, Jesuit Priest, Ashok Pinto, Vice President of P. P. P., Avitha Pinto Secretary of P. P. P., Godwin Pinto Coordinator of 21 Commissions, Sr Sevrine Crasta, superior of St Angela Convent were the other guests on the dias.

Food stalls like Pizza, Burgers, Shawrama, Potato Twister, sweet corn, Charmuri, Chinese, Juice counters like sugar cane, Goli soda, Soda Sarbath, mocktails, Avil Milk, icecream were available. Housie Housie games were played. Amusement for the children like Jumping Jack, Slider, and Balloon stalls and many games stalls were there.

To bring out the local talents of the parish, a Musical Nite was arranged under the leadership of Daijiworld fame music director Sanjay Rodrigues.

During the show, twenty songs in Konkani, composed by famous Konkani composers were sung, two instrumental songs were played by the parish youth, Two dances choreographed by Anusha Pinto were performed.

Magic show by Baba Joshua and a comedy skit by the famous comedian Dolla were the Star attractions for the day.

Lucky draws for the Scooter and a Android Mobile Phone was held.

Group songs sung by the nuns of St Angela Convent and the priests of Bejai Church were the attractions of the day and appreciated by the crowd.

Around 2000 parishioners witnessed the event compared by the Parishioner MC Roshal Fernandes.
At the end Live Baila was played by the musicians.

Behind the scenes, volunteers Aaron Nazareth, Rohan Dsouza, Lovet Dsouza, Victor Serrao, Wilson Lobo joined the organizers in making the event a success.
