Mangaluru: Catholic Sabha Mangalore celebrated International Women’s Day on March 13 at Bejai Church Hall in association with the Episcopal Deanery and Bejai unit Catholic Sabha.
The Program started with Holy Eucharistic led by Rev Fr J B Saldhana, Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha. After Holy Mass, a grand felicitation program was held for the women achievers.
Advocate Joyline Mendoca was honoured on being appointed civil judge.
Rita D Costa, senior sports competitor, Ramona Pereira- dance, Fluorine Roche, media, Beena Fernandes, sports, Theresa Pereira, education and Monica D’Souza agriculture were honoured and felicitated for achievements in their respective fields.
On behalf of the achievers, Advocate Joyline thanked the community members for the support and love they have shared.
Amline D’ Souza, Prof Denis Fernandes and Dr Supriya Hegde spoke on this occasion.
Stany Lobo, President, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, presided over the event and Rev Fr J B Saldanha inaugurated it. Alponse Fernandes, Flavy D Souza, Norine Pinto, Laveena D’Souza, Stany Vas, Melreeda Rodgruigues were present on the dais. Partick Pereira compered the program.
Around 800 women from all over the Mangalore diocese were present. Alwyn D’ Cunha led the Derebail Church Choir in felicitating the women achievers.
