Siliguri, WB: Seva Kendra organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Organizational Management workshop on 27 and 28 April 2023. The resource person for this workshop was Fr Anil Crasta from the Diocese of Gulbarga, an experienced social worker with a good record with government departments and Corporate houses in the district. He has been very successful in accessing the CSR funds from Azim Premji Foundation, hence was the right person to enlighten the participants on various compliances for CSR eligibility.
There has been a good response to this workshop in Siliguri. Diocesan social work directors and staff from Darjeeling, Raiganj, Asansol and Bagdogra and nuns from the Holy Cross, Adorers, Missionary Sisters of Immaculate (Nirmala) and Servites congregations were among the 40 participants. Besides the priests and religious there were a few pastors and NGO heads from other Churches and denominations, thus making this an ecumenical collaboration too.
At the end of the workshop, most participants said that the detailed input shared by Fr Anil was a good eye-opener as far as managing is concerned of an organization/trust/society/NGO, especially relating to the documentation and legal formalities. Fr Anil concluded the workshop by saying that though getting CSR funds is difficult, it is not as hard as most presume, all that is required is writing the right project, keeping the files/documentation in order and pursuing with patience the request for CSR funds.
