Mangaluru: Development of parks and construction of new parks are underway in many parts of the City. Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that he is thinking about the development of the City while retaining greenery and emphasis is being laid on the concept of Green Mangaluru.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the park development works at R. B. Layout in Maroli Ward of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) by the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), MLA Kamath said that funds have been provided for the development of parks and for the construction of new parks in the City.
“We have a huge responsibility to realise the concept of Green Mangaluru, which was conceived with a view to save the greenery as per the growth of the City, and to grow vegetation along with parks,” he said.
Mangaluru Urban Development Authority Chairman Ravishankar Mijar said that funds have been provided for the development of the park as per the demand of the MLAs. Some works are already undertaken. A grant of Rs. 25 lakh has been provided for the development of Maroli R. B. Layout Park, he said.

R., Jagadish Shenoy, Jagannath Aadu Mane, Prashant Maroli, Raghu Maroli, Arun Shetty, Sarala Malathi, Bhoja Amin, Anitha, Deepak Maroli, Lokesh Bolar, Raviraj Shetty, Shakuntala, Monappa Gowda, Sundar Shetty, Kusumadhar, Suresh Bekal, Harini, Sulakshaman Rai, Krishnappa Gowda, Mati Krishna Rao, Kishore, Renuka, Sanjay, Samath, Vitthal Prabhu, Dayanand Nayak, other concerned officials and public were present.
