Mangaluru: The State is committed to provide quality education affordable by all as this Government’s priority is education, said Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath.
He was addressing the first-year students of the Nalyapadavu Government Pre-University College, Shaktinagar on their day one of classes on Saturday Septemeber 18. In order to provide quality education in a government set up PU college has been started in the region. The demand for PU college in this area was approved by Former Minister Suresh Kumar, recalled MLA Kamath.
Out of 21 crore sanctioned for Department of PU College Education, Rs. 5 crore has been sanctioned for Mangaluru. While 4.82 crores have been sanctioned for construction of PU College at Bokkapatna. Similarly, if the Nalyapadavu PU college is sanctioned 50 cents land, then Rs. 4.82 crores of funds will be sanctioned to the PU College too, he assured.
The PU college has Arts and Commerce stream. From next year onwards Science stream too will be included.
