Mangaluru: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Shirthady Unit, Moodabidri of the Dakshina Kannada organised ‘Carrom Tournament’ for the parishioners on the occasion of the 76th Independence Day at Mt Carmel School Hall on Monday August 15.

While India celebrated its 75 years of independence on Monday, the Inter-ward Carrom Tournament was organised to unite parishioners.

This tournament was unique because it was open to all age groups that gave people a chance to participate beyond the age limit. The competition was held with fair rules under the guidance of referees and volunteers, who were ICYM Members of Shirthady Unit.

A total of 23 teams participated in the carrom tournament where the first place was bagged by Chintan and Reyan and second place bagged by Jaison and Larren. The tournament was a grand success as it went on smoothly. The competition was tough but the participants were sporty.

Karnataka Regional ICYM Former President Jason Pereira, Shirthady welcomed the gathering. The programme commenced with a prayer.

Shirthady Unit Animator Chinthan Lobo, President Arrel Mark Pinto, Secretary Nikhitha Martis and other Executive members of ICYM were present at programme.
