Mangaluru: The feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also called the ‘Monthi Fest’, was celebrated with devotion at Bajjodi on Thursday September 8, 2022.
The celebration began with the blessing of the new rice grains. Following the beautiful age-old tradition children of parishioners joined their elders and offered flowers to Bambina Mary with devotion as the choir sang traditional hymns.
This was followed by the Solemn Mass where Fr. Nelson Pinto main celebrant. Fr. Ivan Dsouza, Fr. Patrick lobo and Fr. Rayan Pinto joined in the celebration. The whole ceremony expounded the uniqueness of the feast, bringing out the virtues of mother Mary and how they related to the values of the parents and their effect on children.
