Mangaluru: Foundation stone laid for development works worth Rs 8.1Cr

Mangaluru: MLA B. Vedavyas Kamath said that Mangaluru City is developing into a smart City unlike other cities in the country and the aim is to make it a model city by formulating plans to supplement it.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the development works worth Rs 8.10 Crore of the Smart City Project at Hoige Bazar Ward of Mangaluru City Corporation here, he said, “We are working for the overall development of Mangaluru and efforts are being made to uplift the City without politics. Along with basic amenities, work is also being done to provide people-friendly schemes,” he said.

Under the Smart City Project, the bhoomi pooja for the road from Bolara Post Office to Mulihitlu Kallurti Daivasthanam at a cost of Rs. 4 Crore, the road connecting Mulihitlu Cross Road to Jyothi Garage at a cost of Rs. 3 Crore and the road from Bolara Ferry Road to Prakash Garage at a cost of R.s 1.10 crore have been laid and will be developed.

Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, MCC Chief Whip Premananda Shetty, Standing Committee Presidents Shakila Kawa, Kishore Kottari, Corporators and Smart City Director Sudhir Shetty Kannur, Corporator Revathi Shetty, MCC Nominated Member Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, Leaders Deepak Pai, Nitin Kumar, Vinod Mendon, Umanath, Ashok Kumar, Hema, Girish, Amit, Guruprasad, Vasanth J. Poojary and others were present.
