Mangaluru: Commemorating the birth of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and dedicating the day to all the children, Mount Carmel Central School celebrated Children’s Day on Nov 11 embracing warmth, love and liveliness.

The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings. The cultural programme kick-started with a scintillating welcome dance. The significance of the day was put across in a unique way with a message by Chacha Nehru.

The emotions of the teachers towards their students were conveyed through colourful dances and encapsulated the fun and frolic of the children. A hilarious yet meaningful skit left the children in bouts of laughter. The principal Sr Melissa beamed with joy wished the students on the occasion and urged them to strive towards a better humanity.

The programme was compered seamlessly by teachers Ilona and Laveena. Head Girl Anvila and Head Bboy Siddharth acknowledged the love and care expressed by the teachers through the heart-touching programme.

The celebration ended with a mass dance where the laughter was deafening, the tapping of the feet was vigorous, the pulse beat going haywire and the heartbeat of every child saying “blessed to be a child, thank you God”.

The spice of the day was children enjoying the delicious ice cream. Before this day, several competitions were conducted class-wise in which the students participated actively and joyously.
