Mangaluru: Parisar Ayog (Environment Commission) celebrated Laudato Si Sunday at St Lawrence Church Bondel, Campus on 30 July 2023 at 8 a.m.
Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza welcomed the guest for the day, Jeeth Milan Roche, an environmentalist, with a flower bouquet & a shawl. Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D”Souza, Rev. Fr Lancy D’Souza, John D’Silva-Vice President Parish Pastoral Council, Santhosh Misquith Secretary, Harold Pinto Convener- Parisar Ayog (Environment Commission ) were present.
The chief guest for the day was Jeeth Milan Roche, an eminent environmentalist. In his keynote address, he stressed the need to reduce plastic use and avoid an imminent environmental disaster. He presented practical ways to protect the environment. the importance of protecting it and how youth play a major role in it.
Jeeth Milan Roche in his address urged all children – that humans are the most insane species on earth created by God and we need to disprove this, by preserving nature.
The Chief Guest, Parish Clergy, Vice President, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, and Convener of Parisar Ayog planted saplings on the church premises along with members of Parisar Ayog. Saplings were distributed to all the parishioners.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza.
