Mangaluru: In a bid to welcome and empower the incoming batch of first-year degree students, Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar organized a transformative Launchpad Student Induction Programme on August 24, 2023. The event, orchestrated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, aimed to provide students with insights into academic excellence, career pathways, and holistic development.

The inauguration session of the programme, conducted by Nelson Monis, Coordinator, PG Department of Commerce set an inspiring tone for the day. With a focus on exploring new horizons, Monis encouraged students to embrace the learning journey ahead with enthusiasm and curiosity. He emphasized the importance of curiosity-driven education in the rapidly evolving world.

In the second session, Renita D’Souza, Head Counsellor of Alvas Educational Foundation, Moodabidri, took the stage to guide students on charting their career journeys as future degree graduates. D’Souza delved into the significance of early career planning, skill development, and the ability to adapt to changing career landscapes.

The third session of the day was led by Robin Joseph Sera, lecturer in Commerce. He engaged the students in a comprehensive discussion about the National Education Policy (NEP) and its implications on their academic journey. He also shed light on the importance of gaining knowledge beyond the traditional subject boundaries, fostering a holistic and well-rounded education.

Principal of Sacred Heart College, Prof. Alex Ivan Sequeira, expressed his satisfaction with the successful execution of the event. He lauded the efforts of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell for organizing a programme that effectively set the tone for the student’s educational journey and holistic development.

The Launchpad Student Induction Programme was well-received by the students, as it provided a platform for them to grasp the broader perspective of education and personal growth. The interactive sessions facilitated a healthy exchange of ideas, fostering a sense of belonging within the college community.
