Snehalaya Trust opens 15th house and hands it over to Sunitha D Souza of Nainad

Mangaluru: Snehalaya Charitable Trust has been in service to mankind since 12 years. Providing housing to the needy is one of the initiatives started during the covid pandemic.

Sunitha D’ Souza of Nainad is blessed to have her own house today through Snehalaya in collaboration with Lions Club, Mangalore Balmatta, St. Francis Assisi Church, Nainad, Sisters of F.S.M Congregation, Bangalore  Province. 

Rev Fr. Rocky Ravi Fernandes inaugurated and blessed the newly constructed home. 

Ln. Vasanth Shetty, District Governor Lions club handed over the newly built house to the beneficiary.

Sr. Marriot, Provincial councillor FSM Bangalore Province unveiled the name board “Joenilaya” of the house, in the presence of parish priest, Founder of Snehalaya Mr. Joseph Crasta, sisters of the community and the parishioners.

The work of the 15th project of Snehalaya was started when Rev Fr. Yesudas was the Parish priest, after his transfer from the parish the construction work is completed Under the guidance of Fr Rocky’s.

The dignitaries felicitated the unit head Mr Santhosh D’ Souza and the house contractor Mr. Sadiq.

The provincial councillor Sr Marriot Dcunha was happy to be present for the blessing of the new house. She said that it brings immense joy to my heart to see a smile on Sunitha’s face. Snehalaya is doing an exemplary work. 

Mr. Vasanth admired the work of Snehalaya and said he has seen many houses which are constructed and given to the needy. But the work done by snehalaya is beyond comparison as I have not seen a fine house like this before. So well planned with a great finishing. 

Joseph Crasta spoke on this occasion and said we are just instruments in the hands of God. He leads us to various needy people and having experienced the shortfall of this family, with the help of donors and hard work of contractor, a beautiful house is provided to Sunitha.

Sr Monthi D’Souza Superior of F.S.M. Convent Ninad expressed her Gratitude and gave flowers to all those who have helped financially to build the house  

Everyone wished the beneficiary and said God has worked wonders through Snehalaya in this family and a sweet home for the homeless is great blessings in these difficult times.

Ms Savita D’Souza coordinated and did the MC of the ceremony. 

Mrs Sunitha proposed a vote of thanks and a fellowship meal was served.

This is the 15th house under Snehalaya’s social outreach program, handed over to Sunitha D’Souza on 3rd November 2021.
