Mangaluru: Eminent Tulu Theatre stalwarts and Popular cine Artists Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Aravind Bolar have been conferred with the Rotary Annual State Level prestigious “Vandana Award” at a function held on April 28 at Kanara Club, Mangalore. The award is conferred on them in recognition of their exemplary achievements and in appreciation of their invaluable contributions in the field of Tulu, Art and Culture. The award is jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City.
Dist. Commissioner of Police Shashikumar graced the occasion as Chief Guest and congratulated them. He also lauded the Rotary Clubs community service rendered by the Rotary and recognizing the achievers and honouring them. Mangalore Citizens are peace lovers and obey law and order, Govt. directions he added.
Chairman of the Award Selection Committee Dr Devdas Rai in his introductory address revealed that the Annual Vandana Award is conferred on exemplary achievers and it is a part of the club’s vocational service project. He Congratulated Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Aravind Bolar on their unique achievements in the field of entertainment and Tulu Film Industry.
Responding the felicitations the awardees expressed their gratitude to the Rotary Club and said that they deemed it as a privilege and honour to accept the Awards, which is very valuable among the awards they have won.
President Rtn. Ramashesha Shetty presided over the function. District Assistant Governor Rtn. Raghavendra released the Club Weekly News Bulletin “Centor”. Secretary Rtn. Jagannath Shetty presented the Monthly Report, Past President Rtn. Prakash Chandra President Elect Rtn. Saibaba Rao, District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Deryl Steven D’Souza, Rotaract Club President Rtr. Nishan were present, Rotaract Club Secretary Rtr. Arjun Prakash proposed a vote of thanks. This event is sponsored by Rtn. Nithin Shetty and Rtn.
