Mangaluru: Post Hijab controversy, in all 10 Muslim female students have been admitted to the University College under Mangaluru University, Hampanakatta. It has shown that the Hijab controversy has not affected the enrollment of Muslim female students in the college.
Last year, University College had a total of 44 Muslim female students. As many as seven Muslim female students have left the college after the Hijab controversy erupted on campus. However, this year 10 girl students have joined the college.
Hijab is not a problem on campus now and things are back to normal. Three of the seven students who left the college after the Hijab controversy are trying to join a private college in the City. Two female students have cut short their studies because they did not get their preferred subject combination. It is learned that one has enrolled in an engineering course.
