New Delhi: Xbox players have four games to try at no additional cost this weekend as Microsoft brings a new Free Play Days lineup running from September 24 to September 27, 2026. The latest promotion includes PGA TOUR 2K25, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, The Escapists 2 and Young Suns, covering genres ranging from sports and tactical action to prison-escape gameplay and narrative simulation.

The promotion gives all Xbox members access to two of the games, while the remaining two are available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential. The offer provides players with a limited window to try the games before the promotion ends on Sunday, September 27.

Four games are part of the September Free Play Days lineup

Microsoft’s latest Free Play Days selection brings together four different types of games.

PGA TOUR 2K25 is the golf title in the lineup and is available to all Xbox members during the promotion. Players can access the Standard Edition and take part in Ranked Tours, including the Championship at Del Cerro. The game also features MyPLAYER progression and rewards.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is the second title available to all Xbox members without requiring a Game Pass subscription during the promotion. The tactical third-person shooter takes players to a devastated Washington, DC, where they fight to restore order while dealing with hostile factions and other threats.

The remaining two titles, The Escapists 2 and Young Suns, require an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription.

PGA TOUR 2K25 available without Game Pass

Golf fans can play the Standard Edition of PGA TOUR 2K25 during the Free Play Days event.

The game allows players to compete in Ranked Tours and work towards themed rewards for their MyPLAYER. Xbox’s announcement also highlights a featured quest called The Captain’s Call, giving players additional objectives and rewards during the promotion.

The temporary access means players can sample the golf simulation without purchasing it first. Those who decide to buy the game can continue their progress, with Gamerscore and achievements earned during the Free Play Days period retained.

Microsoft has also noted that limited-time purchase discounts can accompany the promotion, although the availability and discount levels can vary depending on the title and region.

The Division 2 offers an open-world action experience

The Division 2 provides a very different experience from PGA TOUR 2K25.

Set in a post-pandemic Washington, DC, the game combines third-person shooting with exploration, missions, character progression and cooperative gameplay. Players can tackle the game’s content alone or team up with others.

During the September Free Play Days event, The Division 2 is available to all Xbox members, meaning an eligible Game Pass subscription is not required to participate in the trial. Microsoft has also listed a limited-time discount for the game, although the exact offer can vary by region.

For players who enjoy tactical shooters or open-world games, the weekend promotion provides an opportunity to sample The Division 2 before deciding whether to purchase it.

The Escapists 2 requires Game Pass

The Escapists 2 is included in the Free Play Days selection for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members.

The game puts players inside a series of prisons and challenges them to plan and execute escapes. Instead of simply fighting their way out, players have to observe prison routines, collect useful objects, craft equipment and find opportunities to bypass security.

The game can also be played cooperatively, allowing players to work with friends on escape plans. Microsoft describes the experience as one where everyday objects can become tools for breaking out of increasingly difficult prisons.

The combination of planning, crafting and cooperative gameplay makes it different from the other titles available during the weekend.

Young Suns takes players to Jupiter

Young Suns is the fourth game in this week’s promotion and is also restricted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members.

The game is described as a multiplayer narrative life simulation set on Jupiter following a revolution against corporations. Players can explore moonlets, converted space stations and abandoned ruins while travelling aboard their own spaceship.

The game supports solo play as well as multiplayer with up to three friends. Players can repair items, customise their spaceship, build relationships with characters and contribute to rebuilding the society around them.

Young Suns is also available on both console and PC and supports Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery, according to Microsoft’s announcement.

When does the Xbox Free Play Days offer end?

The latest Free Play Days promotion began on Thursday, September 24 and runs until Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Players therefore have only a limited period to download and play the four games under the promotion. Microsoft has not specified a precise end time in its announcement, so players interested in trying the games should complete their sessions before the end of Sunday rather than relying on access continuing into Monday.

The promotion covers both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for applicable titles, while Young Suns is also available on PC.

How to access the free Xbox games

Xbox users can find the games through the Microsoft Store or the Free Play Days section on their console.

On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, players can open the Xbox Store and navigate to the Subscriptions section, where the Free Play Days collection is listed. Alternatively, users can search for each game individually.

Players should check the eligibility information shown on the game page because PGA TOUR 2K25 and The Division 2 are available to all Xbox members, while The Escapists 2 and Young Suns require Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential.

Gamerscore and achievements carry over

One advantage of Microsoft’s Free Play Days programme is that progress made during the promotional period can remain relevant if players later purchase the game.

Microsoft says Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event are retained when players purchase the relevant title. Limited-time discounts may also be available on selected games, although pricing and availability can differ by title and region.

This allows players to use the weekend promotion as a trial before deciding whether they want to add one or more games permanently to their library.

A mix of genres for Xbox players

The September 24–27 Free Play Days lineup offers a broad mix of experiences rather than focusing on one particular genre. PGA TOUR 2K25 caters to sports fans, The Division 2 offers tactical action, The Escapists 2 focuses on strategic prison escapes, and Young Suns combines exploration, relationships and life-simulation elements in a science-fiction setting.

With two games available to all Xbox members and two more included for eligible Game Pass subscribers, the promotion gives players several options to explore before the September 27 deadline.

For Xbox users who have been considering any of the four titles, the weekend promotion provides a limited opportunity to play them without purchasing the full games upfront.
