Stockholm: A new simulation game on Steam is taking the survival and exploration concept seen in Cairn in a completely different direction. Called Cave Expedition, the upcoming title from Moonmilk Games replaces mountain climbing with underground exploration, putting players in the role of cavers who must descend into increasingly dangerous cave systems.
The game has attracted attention because of its focus on realistic caving rather than conventional action-adventure gameplay. While Cairn challenges players to climb a dangerous mountain, Cave Expedition effectively reverses that journey by sending players beneath the surface. The comparison has already made the upcoming Steam title an interesting prospect for players looking for a different kind of exploration experience.
Cave Expedition takes exploration underground
Cairn built its identity around the physical challenge of climbing, requiring players to carefully manage movement and resources while making their way towards a summit.
