United States: A new mobile fighting game featuring some of DC’s most iconic characters has been unveiled by Drop Fake, a studio founded by former Kabam developers. Titled DCKO, the game promises fast-paced arcade-style combat with real-time multiplayer battles, marking a major step forward for DC-themed mobile fighting experiences.

Officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC, DCKO will allow players to create teams of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and compete in both single-player and online multiplayer modes. The game is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android devices in 2027.

Former Kabam developers unveil new DC fighting title

Drop Fake, the newly established studio behind DCKO, is led by developers with experience creating mobile games for comic book audiences. The team aims to combine accessible controls with deeper combat mechanics to appeal to both casual players and competitive fighting game fans.

The developers described DCKO as a “pick up and play” fighting experience, designed to get players into action quickly while also rewarding strategy, timing and effective team combinations.

Unlike previous DC mobile fighting titles, DCKO will introduce real-time player-versus-player multiplayer, allowing users from around the world to compete against each other directly.

DC characters clash in tag team battles

DCKO focuses on 2-on-2 tag team combat, where players can select pairs of DC characters and combine their abilities during battles.

The initial roster includes popular figures such as Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Constantine and Superman, alongside other heroes and villains from the DC universe.

Players will be able to chain powerful combos, perform tactical assists and build teams based on their preferred style of play.

For example, Superman can be used as a heavy attacker with powerful ground and aerial combinations, while characters such as Nightwing can focus on faster damage output and sustained attacks.

The game encourages players to experiment with different combinations to discover effective strategies against opponents.

Real-time PvP aims to create competitive community

One of the biggest features of DCKO is its live multiplayer system. The developers said the game will be the first DC mobile fighting title to offer true real-time PvP battles.

Players will be able to challenge opponents globally, compete on leaderboards and improve their teams through progression systems.

As players advance, they can unlock:

  • New abilities
  • Character upgrades
  • Stat improvements
  • Custom team options
  • Additional costumes

Drop Fake said it hopes to build a strong competitive community around DCKO and provide a long-term experience for fighting game enthusiasts.

Single-player storyline and PvE missions

Alongside multiplayer battles, DCKO will feature a detailed player-versus-environment mode with an original storyline.

The PvE campaign will allow players to fight against some of DC’s most dangerous threats, including Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins, Amazo’s robot army and Trigon’s demon forces.

Players can earn currency and experience points through these missions, helping them strengthen their characters before entering competitive multiplayer matches.

The single-player mode is designed to provide progression even for players who prefer solo gameplay.

Neo-Comic visual style brings DC universe alive

DCKO will feature a unique “Neo-Comic” art style inspired by the visual identity of DC comic books.

The game will use bold artwork, energetic colours and dramatic animations to recreate the feeling of comic panels coming to life.

Players will battle across famous DC locations, including:

  • Themyscira
  • The Batcave
  • Lazarus Pits
  • Other iconic DC arenas

The developers said the visual design aims to celebrate the history of DC while creating a modern style suitable for mobile platforms.

Costumes and character customisation

Character customisation will play an important role in DCKO’s progression system.

Players will be able to unlock and purchase different costume variations for their favourite DC characters. These outfits will reference different eras and designs from the long history of DC comics.

The customisation options will allow players to personalise their teams while showcasing their favourite versions of iconic heroes and villains.

Developer highlights future plans

Drop Fake creative director Gene Campbell said the studio wanted DCKO to represent a major advancement for mobile fighting games.

“Live multiplayer games between players are core to the spirit of fighting games,” Campbell said, adding that the team wanted to create a competitive environment for comic book fans.

He also stated that the developers have experience creating games loved by comic book audiences and are looking forward to player feedback following launch.

Conclusion

DCKO represents an ambitious attempt to expand DC’s presence in the mobile gaming market by combining famous characters, tag team combat and real-time competitive gameplay.

With its mix of PvP battles, story-driven missions and comic-inspired visuals, the game aims to attract both longtime DC fans and mobile fighting game players. If Drop Fake delivers on its promises, DCKO could become one of the most significant DC gaming releases for mobile platforms in the coming years.
