New Delhi: Nintendo Switch 2 users have another officially licensed controller option, with accessory maker HORI expanding its Wireless HORIPAD Turbo lineup for Nintendo’s latest console. The controller combines a traditional wireless gamepad design with programmable controls, Turbo functionality and TMR analogue sticks designed to reduce wear-related stick drift.
HORI’s Switch 2 range now includes several versions of the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo, including themed editions based on Pokémon, Mario, Kirby and other Nintendo properties. The controller is positioned as an alternative to Nintendo’s own Switch 2 Pro Controller.
HORI controller gets TMR analogue sticks
One of the key features of the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo is its TMR, or Tunnel Magnetoresistance, analogue sticks.
Unlike traditional potentiometer-based sticks, TMR technology uses magnetic sensing and is designed to reduce wear-related input problems. HORI says the sticks offer precision and durability for extended gaming sessions.
This feature could appeal to Switch 2 players concerned about analogue-stick drift, particularly those who spend long periods playing games.
Turbo and programmable controls
The controller includes a dedicated HORI button that provides access to additional functions.
Players can activate Turbo and Turbo Hold functions, with input rates of 5, 10 and 20 presses per second. The controller also supports button assignment, allowing users to customise controls according to their preferences.
Up to two custom button profiles can be stored, making it possible to switch between different control configurations.
The controller also features programmable rear buttons. Players can assign functions to these buttons, potentially making frequently used commands easier to access during gameplay.
Motion controls and GameChat support
The Wireless HORIPAD Turbo is not limited to conventional button and stick controls. It includes a gyroscope and accelerometer, allowing supported games to use motion-based inputs.
The controller also has a C button, which can be used to activate GameChat on Nintendo Switch 2. HORI notes that internet access, a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership may be required for some GameChat functionality.
A button-lock function is also included. It can prevent accidental presses of selected buttons while playing.
Up to 10 hours of battery life
The Wireless HORIPAD Turbo comes with a rechargeable battery rated for up to 10 hours of playtime per charge.
HORI lists a wireless range of up to approximately 33 feet, although actual connectivity and battery performance can vary depending on usage and conditions.
The relatively modest battery rating is one area where the controller differs from Nintendo’s official Switch 2 Pro Controller, which is designed for substantially longer operation between charges.
Multiple designs available
HORI has released the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo in a range of designs rather than limiting the accessory to a standard black finish.
The company’s current Switch 2 catalogue includes versions featuring Mario, Rosalina, Kirby and Waddle Dee, Pokémon characters and other themed designs. The lineup also includes standard colour options such as Frost and Aqua.
HORI has also introduced special collaborations, giving Switch 2 owners more options to match their gaming accessories with particular Nintendo franchises.
HORI controller price
The Wireless HORIPAD Turbo is listed at an MSRP of $64.99 on HORI’s US website for several models.
That places it below the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller in the US market, making the HORI model a lower-priced alternative for players who want a wireless controller with additional customisation features.

Compatible with Switch 2 and original Switch models
HORI states that the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED Model and Nintendo Switch Lite.
This gives owners of multiple Nintendo consoles some flexibility, although certain Switch 2-specific functions may depend on the console and game being used.
The controller is primarily designed for Nintendo platforms and does not offer PC compatibility, according to HORI’s documentation for the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo.
