Haveri: Reports of money vanishing from the accounts of numerous Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank customers in Havanur village have caused distress since last November. A complaint has been filed at the local police station, outlining a total loss of ₹2.1 lakh due to fraudulent activities.

Alarming cases include Parameshappa Patila, from Hamvashi village, who lost ₹37,500 on consecutive days in 2023, along with Suresh Maji and Savita Madiwala, who also fell victim to this financial scam.

The situation became heated when Parameshappa Patila approached the bank manager about the missing funds, only to be met with unhelpful behavior and directed to contact the Dharwad branch instead.

Expressing their anguish over this ordeal, Savita Madiwala stated that immediate action must be taken by both the police department and bank management to rectify this injustice. She demanded that their stolen funds be located and refunded promptly.

The affected residents, who are hardworking individuals from more than 10 households, trusted their earnings to be secured within the bank. Amidst these troubling circumstances, they remain determined to seek justice and resolution through official channels.
