Student with a wild streak

Vedansh Pandey (13) is a grade 8th student in National Public School, Koramangala. His passion encompasses wildlife and nature. An Environmentalist at heart and an accomplished photographer he believes in Spreading the message of Wildlife conservation through his photographs.

Vedansh’s love for nature blossomed as he was born and bought up in Karnataka in close proximity of nature. He was born in coastal Mangaluru and grew up in Mysuru and the Malnad region of Shivamogga. His affinity with nature gave him this keen interest in animals and forests.

He started reading and writing on animals and making observations while trekking and nature walks with his grandparents. He thus, expresses his love of wildlife and the need for conservation through his lens.

Vedansh is keen to spread the message of conservation and protection of environment and Wildlife amongst the children of his age and even elders.

He is an environmentalist at heart and he believes in co-existence of animals and human beings. His empathy and kinship makes him sit for hours in pursuit of a story that he creates through his camera with his perceptions and belief.

Most of his photographs have been clicked in Karnataka especially in Kabini, Nagarhole, Bandipur, Agumbe and Coorg where he spent hours sitting and patiently clicking these natural beauties. His grandfather has been his companion in all his endeavours in forests. His encouragement has had a great influence on him.

He was the only child speaker amongst nine esteemed speakers like Chairman of ISRO and other luminaries in the Global Environment Summit which was held at National Institute of Advanced Studies-Indian Institute of Science as part of the Round Glass Samsaara Environment Summit. His work was displayed was appreciated by the spectators.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, he is showcasing his passion for environment, which is yet unguided and untamed at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF). All the proceeds will go to WWF for their work on environment and wild life. Hari Somashekhar, State Director, WWF, Karnataka is inaugurating the exhibition. The exhibition will be on 24th, 25th and 26th of November, 2017.
