Hubbali: Kalasa-Banduri Raitha Horata Samithi president Siddanna K G has warned the state government here on Tuesday, March 12, to either remove the wall built across the Kalasa canal or they will deliberately demolish it.

Addressing a press meet he said that they had already written a letter to the state government to take action on the wall built across the canal and if there was no response from the government, then they would gather in Belagavi for a meeting and decide further actions.

He criticized the government for not taking the action on this issue yet and also several issues related to sugarcane, onion, and other farmers.

He said, “It is the duty of the state government to call for a meeting with all the farmers and find a resolution for their problems. As they have not learnt a lesson yet, we will teach them a lesson in the coming days”.

Other members of the Samithi were also present.

Kalasa-Banduri is a canal project which will help in resolving the supply of drinking water issues of Belagavi, Dharwad and Gadag districts.
