Hubballi: In a brazen act of violence that shocked Hubballi, a man was caught on camera attacking a woman with a machete in the middle of the road during the day.
What is even more shocking is that throughout the video shot by an onlooker, which has since gone viral, it is seen that no one tries to stop the attack. The woman is seen lying on the road as she is repeatedly attacked by the man, who is reported to be her lover.
According to reports, the attack occurred on Monday at 10 AM in Hubbali’s Deshpande Nagar.
In the video, the man can be seen striking the woman’s head and neck with the machete while she screams in agonising pain.
Minutes after the woman collapses from her injuries and the pain, a man, identified as an acquaintance by India Today, arrives at the spot on his bike tugs at the attacker’s shirt in a bid to stop the attack.
The attacker has been arrested and, according to India Today, has been identified by the police as Ismail K Kukura, an auto driver hailing from the Rampura village.
Meanwhile, the woman, identified as a jewellery shop employee named Asha D Agasara, is being treated for her injuries at a hospital.
A case has been registered and the matter is now under investigation.
