In Gandoh area of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, a fierce gun battle erupted between terrorists and security forces, resulting in the death of one terrorist. Two other terrorists remain engaged in the ongoing firefight, according to police reports.

The terrorists are suspected to have been involved in recent attacks on army and police personnel in the Valley. “We have neutralized one terrorist in the encounter,” stated Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir.

The police launched a search operation upon receiving information about the presence of three terrorists earlier today. Over the past week, security operations have intensified in Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch regions following a series of terrorist assaults.

On June 11, an army camp was attacked, resulting in injuries to five soldiers and a special police officer. In another incident, terrorists targeted a police camp, injuring a policeman. These incidents prompted heightened security measures, with coordinated efforts by security forces to apprehend terrorists and their local supporters. According to police sources, three individuals suspected of providing assistance to terrorists, including shelter and provisions, have been apprehended.
