Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: A 14-year-old boy, Hrithik Yadav, was allegedly kidnapped, beaten, electrocuted, and poisoned to death in a shocking incident that has sparked outrage in the district. Local Samajwadi Party leader Rajesh Yadav joined protesters, demanding justice for the victim.
Incident details
According to sources, Hrithik was returning home after attending Ram Katha in a nearby village when he encountered a pet dog belonging to Vishambhar Tripathi, a local resident. Frightened by the dog, Hrithik allegedly threw a stone at it and ran away.
The next day, Tripathi, along with two friends and his younger son, reportedly abducted Hrithik from his home, subjected him to severe physical abuse, forced him to lick their shoes, electrocuted him, and made him consume poison.
Hrithik fell ill the day after the attack and was first taken to the district hospital in Unnao. He was later referred to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Family allegations and political intervention
The victim’s mother, Asha Yadav, accused the local police of inaction, alleging that Tripathi, who she described as a gangster, was using his influence to manipulate the investigation.
In response, Rajesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party’s district-in-charge, visited the family and assured them of justice. He warned that if police failed to act, he would escalate the matter to party National President Akhilesh Yadav, ensuring it is raised in the Lok Sabha.

Deepak Yadav, a senior officer from the local police, confirmed that a case has been registered based on the victim’s family complaint. The deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend all accused involved in the crime.
