Mumbai: A 16-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who went missing after leaving home on the pretext of attending school, has been traced in Mumbai after travelling nearly 900 kilometres in pursuit of his dream of becoming an actor.
The teenager was found wandering alone at Film City in Goregaon by police personnel. He was taken to Aarey Police Station for questioning after police received information about his presence in the area.
Teenager travels from Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai
During questioning, the boy told police that he was from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh and had travelled to Mumbai hoping to pursue an acting career.
According to police, he specifically wanted an opportunity to act in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The teenager reportedly left home on Thursday afternoon, telling his family that he was going to school. Instead, he travelled to Chhindwara railway station, boarded a train to Nagpur and then took another train to Mumbai.
He reached Goregaon railway station the following morning and walked towards Film City.
Father confirms missing report
After Mumbai Police contacted the family, the boy’s father confirmed that his son had been missing since Thursday.
The teenager is currently safe at Aarey Police Station, while his father is travelling to Mumbai to bring him back home.
The incident highlights the strong aspirations among young people who dream of entering the entertainment industry, while also underlining the risks minors can face when travelling long distances alone without informing their families.
Police have ensured the teenager’s safety and are coordinating with his family for his return.
