Palghar: A 19-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by six men in Talasari taluka of Maharashtra’s Palghar district, according to police. The incident reportedly took place on Monday when the woman was standing by the roadside with a friend.

Police said the accused allegedly arrived on two motorcycles and took the woman to a disused bungalow, where she was sexually assaulted.

Police launch investigation

A case has been registered at Talasari police station in connection with the alleged assault.

According to the latest reports, three of the six suspects have been apprehended, while police are continuing efforts to trace the remaining accused. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering evidence from the location.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of women travelling or waiting along isolated stretches of road, particularly in areas where access to immediate assistance may be limited.
