A tragic incident unfolded in Kakkoor, on the outskirts of Kozhikode, Kerala, where a two-month-old infant died on Sunday after allegedly being administered anesthesia for a circumcision procedure.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the infant showed signs of distress soon after receiving anesthesia. Despite being rushed to a private hospital in Kozhikode, the baby could not be saved and was declared dead by 12:10 pm.
The Kakkoor police have registered a case of unnatural death. Station House Officer confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted on Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident has raised serious concerns about medical protocols and the risks associated with administering anesthesia to infants. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain whether there was any negligence involved.
