Customs authorities at Mumbai International Airport confiscated 32.79 kilograms of gold, valued at ₹19.15 crore, hidden within the undergarments and luggage of two female foreign nationals in separate incidents, as per an official statement today.
Following their arrivals at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday, the two passengers from African nations underwent searches based on suspicion, leading to the discoveries.
In both instances, the gold was discreetly concealed within their undergarments and personal belongings. Subsequently, the women were detained, and investigations are currently underway.
