A shocking incident has emerged from Bihar’s Jehanabad district, where a five-year-old boy was found dead inside a private school hostel, police said.
The incident occurred under the Karauna police station limits, triggering immediate investigation by authorities.
Child found with fatal injuries
According to police, the boy was discovered with severe injuries, including a slit throat. Family members, upon being informed, rushed to the hostel and took him to a nearby hospital.
He was later referred to a medical facility in Patna, where doctors declared him dead.
Police begin investigation
Aprajit Lohan, Superintendent of Police, confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination and that the case is being investigated from all angles.
Authorities are yet to determine the exact circumstances leading to the child’s death.
Questions raised over hostel management
It has emerged that the boy’s elder brother also stayed in the same hostel, though on a different floor. The incident has raised concerns about safety and supervision within residential school facilities.
Demand for judicial probe
The CPI(ML) Liberation has called for a judicial inquiry into the incident. A fact-finding team from the party reportedly observed multiple injuries on the child’s body.
The party also alleged that the school premises were locked and students sent home before their team arrived, raising further suspicion.
