Ali Khan CK, accompanied by a friend, was occupying the lower berth when the improperly secured upper berth collapsed, causing him neck injuries. Initially treated at a hospital in Ramagundam, he was later transferred to Hyderabad, where he passed away on June 24th while undergoing medical care.

The Railways Ministry clarified via social media that the incident was due to another passenger’s failure to properly secure the chain of the upper berth, causing it to dislodge. The ministry emphasized that the seat itself was undamaged and had been inspected prior to departure from Nizamuddin station.
