New Delhi: In Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area, a devastating fire ravaged New Born Baby Care Hospital, resulting in the tragic loss of seven infants and leaving several others injured. The blaze erupted late at night, prompting an immediate response from the Delhi Fire Services, who dispatched nine fire tenders upon receiving the distress call at 11:32 pm.

Efficient Action by Delhi Fire Services
Authorities confirmed the successful rescue of eleven newborns from the hospital, with ongoing efforts to ascertain the cause of the fire. Atul Garg, Chief of Delhi Fire Services, revealed, “We received a fire emergency call from Baby Care Centre near ITI, Block B of Vivek Vihar area. Nine fire tenders were swiftly deployed.”

Rescue Operations and Investigation
Police and firefighters swiftly arrived to combat the flames and secure the safety of remaining patients and staff. Fire Officer Rajesh stated, “At 11:32 pm, the Fire Service Control Room was alerted about the hospital fire… a total of 16 fire tenders were dispatched, and the fire has now been completely extinguished.”

Transfer of Newborns for Continued Care
The rescued newborns have been transferred to East Delhi Advance NICU hospital for further medical attention and monitoring. Meanwhile, inquiries into the cause of the fire and the extent of damage are ongoing.

This tragic event coincides with another distressing incident in Rajkot city, Gujarat, where 27 individuals lost their lives in a fire that engulfed a game zone. These consecutive tragedies have deeply saddened and shocked the nation, underscoring the urgent need for stringent safety protocols in public spaces to avert similar calamities in the future.
